Rs 6 billion allocated for fight against coronavirus

KATHMANDU: Finance Minister Dr. Yuvaraj Khatiwada has said that a budget of Rs 6 billion has been allocated to fight coronavirus.

While unveiling the budget for fiscal year 2020/21 on Thursday, he said that a significant budget has been allocated in the health sector for the prevention and control of the coronavirus epidemic.

He said that the necessary budget has been allocated to provide treatment.

The government will establish 272 hospitals across the country.

For this, the government has allocated a total of Rs 12.27 billion.

The government will also ensure health insurance for all in the next three years, he said.

Minister Dr. Khatiwada said that Nepal to be declared a fully immunized country in the forthcoming fiscal year.
