Only Rs 1.073 trillion budget spent in current fiscal year



KATHMANDU: The government has estimated to spend Rs 1.073 trillion budget this fiscal year.

Finance Minister Dr. Yuvaraj Khatiwada said that the amount would be spent during the budget allocation for the coming fiscal year.

A budget of Rs 1.552 trillion was presented for the current fiscal year.

During the mid-year review of the budget, Finance Minister Khatiwada had set a target of 90 percent of the appropriation budget that equals to Rs 1.385 trillion.

He estimated that only 70 percent of the budget would be spent by revising the target even if the work was stopped due to the impact of COVID-19. Only Rs. 775 billion has been spent in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year.
