KATHMANDU: Popular lyricist and poet Ratna Shamsher Thapa passed away on Thursday. He was 83.

He breathed his last at around 12 pm today at the Thapathali-based Norvic International Hospital in Kathmandu.

Thapa was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday after he complained of uneasiness, according to his family sources.

Thapa has written several popular Nepali songs such as ‘Eh kanchha thattaima yo bainsha …”, Bichhodko pida nasaki khapna Dashian ko bela maa…”, Jaga lamka chamka he naujawana ho…’, among others.
