Valley witnesses rain with gusty wind



KATHMANDU: Already hit by Coronavirus-induced lockdown, the Kathmandu Valley has witnessed rains coupled with thunderstorms and gusty winds, affecting the normal life.

Gusty winds blowing at a great speed have reportedly uprooted some trees and snapped its branches at some places in the capital.

It has caused some physical damages in the capital but the detailed report is yet to be awaited.

Earlier, this morning, the meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) had forecast thunderstorm and lightning towards the afternoon.

Even though the Amphan cyclone that started from the Bay of Bengal few days ago has already made a landfall, the thunderstorm still is occurring in the central and eastern hilly regions of the country due to low pressure weather system and local winds, according to the MFD.

The capital has been witnessing a stormy weather since the last three days.
