Jhapa reports 17 new COVID-19 cases

BIRTAMOD: As many as 17 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Jhapa district on Wednesday.

The cases were confirmed in the test carried out at the Biratnagar-based Koshi Hospital laboratory, according to Dr Sangita Misra at the hospital.

Among those infected, 15 are from Kechankawal rural municipality – all Indian returnees. They were staying in a quarantine in Jhapa.

The rest two are from Gauradaha Municipality. With this, the total number of positive cases in Nepal has climbed to 842.

On Wednesday, 35 new cases were reported in Rautahat, 6 in Baglung and one in Hetauda.
