MYAGDI: Out of six local governments in Myagdi district, four have made a corona prevention fund of 10.9 million rupees.
Beni Municipality, Raghu Ganga Rural Municipality, Malika Rural Municipality and Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality have made the fund of 10.9 million rupees for corona prevention.
“Beni Municipality’s Disaster Management Committee meeting decided to make a fund of 5 million rupees for the prevention and control of coronavirus and the treatment of the patients,” Hari Kumar Shrestha the Mayor of Beni Municipality told Khabarhub.
Similarly, Raghu Ganga Rural Municipality decided to make a fund of 3.4 million rupee emergency funds against coronavirus. The rural municipality has contributed 3 million and Mayor Bhava Bahadur Bhandari has contributed 400 thousand rupees for the emergency fund. The rural municipality has also established quarantine in each ward under it.
Likewise, Malika Rural Municipality’s Mayor Shree Prasad Roka Magar informed that Western Myagdi’s Malika Rural Municipality has also made the emergency fund of 2 million rupees for the prevention and control of COVID-19.
According to Resham Chhantyal, the Deputy Mayor of Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality informed that his municipality has made a disaster management fund against corona of 500 thousand rupees.
Ram Krishna Baraili, the spokesperson of Beni Municipality told Khabarhub that the municipality has restricted the relief collection campaign citing that it violates government decree about the lockdown.
“The relief collection campaign endangers the participants and the donors as well, because many people have to come face to face due to it,” he added.
Mayor Shrestha informed Khabarhub that the municipality has decided to use its ambulance to take the corona infected patients of the municipality if any.
