Amid imported cases in rise, China limits home-comers

BEIJING: China is worried about new coronavirus cases in the country. When the country’s mission of curbing the pandemic seemed working, further challenges are seen in coming back to normalcy as new cases are in the Chinese returning home from abroad.

Out of 78 cases noticed in China on Mar.23, seventy four are the cases from recent incomers.  Such imported cases are in rise in 12 provinces including Beijing, Shanghai and Quangtong.

Out of 55 new cases across China on Thursday and 54 were from overseas.

China has announced a temporary ban on all visitors even if they have visas or permanent residence cards.

The country is also limiting Chinese and foreign airlines to one flight per week and flights must not be more than 75% full.

Although China reported its first locally-transmitted coronavirus case for three days on Friday, almost all its new cases now come from abroad.
