Medical assistance from China arriving Tatopani today

KATHMANDU: Medical assistance provided by China is arriving at Tatopani transit point along the Nepal-China border on Friday, the Tatopani Customs Office said.

China had earlier announced to provide the assistance to Nepal.

Lal Bahadur Khatri, Chief of the Office informed that the assistance materials are arriving in Tatopani as the government has decided to open the transit point which had remained closed since the 2015 earthquake.

A medical protocol will be carried out to complete screening procedures of the materials, he said.

The Chinese assistance has been meant for combating the coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile, a medical team has been kept standby in Tatopani. With the import of the materials, the operation of transit point will resume officially.
