Four Nepali migrants infected with COVID-19 in Spain

KATHMANDU: Four Nepali migrant workers have been infected with the COVID-19 in Spain.

They have been undergoing treatment at different hospitals in Catalonia in the north-east region of Spain, confirmed Nepali Embassy in Spain.

Nepali Ambassador to Spain Dawa Futi Sherpa said the Embassy has received the information  about the coronavirus infection in the four Nepali migrant workers.

A Nepali national staying at Barcelona, Sadagra Familia has been hospitalized at Sant Pau Hospital while the remaining three are from Hospital De Lliria. They have been receiving treatment at a hospital based in the area.

The details of the patients have, however, been kept confidential. According to sources, all the infected are males. The condition of one among them is said to be critical.

Catalonia in the north-east region of Spain has seen a rapid increase in cases, of late.

The number of deaths in Spain has soared to 4,365 after 931 people died in 24 hours on Thursday. Over 57,786 people have been infected.
