Govt to bring medical equipment from China on Sunday

KATHMANDU: The government is sending a Nepal Airlines aircraft to China on Saturday to bring medical kits to test and treat suspected novel coronavirus patients.

A source revealed that a wide-body aircraft of Nepal Airlines (Airbus 330) will fly to Guangzhou of China to bring the necessary medical equipment.

The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has already written to the NA to remain prepared to fly to China.

China has also offered to provide necessary medical equipment in grant.

According to the source, the materials, which are likely to arrive in Kathmandu by Sunday, will be distributed to different places of the country by Nepal Army helicopters the same day.

Nepal is likely to bring Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), viral transport medium (VTM), PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test kits, N95 masks, among others.
