Media Council Bill endorsed, passing licensing exams must for new journalists

KATHMANDU: The Legislation Management Committee of the National Assembly (NA) has unanimously endorsed the much-debated Media Council Bill.

With the endorsement, new journalists must appear for licensing exams. Punitive provisions, however, have been removed from the bill.

A meeting of the committee held on Monday endorsed the bill.
