Kerala govt demands compensation for Nepal resort victims



KERALA: Kerala government has urged the Nepal government to conduct a detailed probe in the deaths of eight tourists of the state in a resort in Nepal.

The government has also demanded adequate compensation for their families.

Pinarayi Vijayan, the Chief Minister of Kerala sent the message to the bereaved families that the government had written to the External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar for initiations in that regard.

It is said that the Chief Minister has requested the Ministry of External Affairs for taking necessary steps for the probe and compensation in the issue.

Nepal government has formed the five-member team to investigate the incident and the team has been asked to submit the report within 15 days.
