Sacked Province Minister Angbo says he will file no-confidence motion against CM today



KATHMANDU: Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning of Province 1 Indra Angbo sacked by Chief Minister Sherdhan Rai has said that he will file a no-confidence motion against the Chief Minister on Sunday.

Talking to media after the Chief Minister dismissed him on Saturday; Angbo said that the no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Rai would be filed at the Provincial Assembly under his leadership.

CM Rai sacked Angbo accusing the minister of being active in bringing a no-confidence motion against him.

Minister Angbo has been relieved of his post by the Chief Minister according to Article 169 (2) (b) of the Constitution, said Dhruba Subedi, Press Advisor to the Chief Minister.

The Prachanda-Nepal faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is preparing to bring a no-confidence motion against the Chief Minister.

The Prachanda-Nepal faction had on Friday registered a no-confidence motion against Bagmati Chief Minister Dormani Poudel.

Sources said final preparations were being made to bring a no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Rai.

The source claimed that the Prachanda-Nepal faction has a majority in the state assembly.

The NCP has 68 lawmakers out of 93 in the state assembly. Of them, 52 are from erstwhile CPN-UML and 16 are from the then Maoist (Center).
