BARA: Three persons have been killed when a bus hit a scooter in Bara district.

Three persons were killed when the bus hit a scooter at Dudhaura in Jitpur Simara-1 of Bara along the East-West Highway.

According to Deepak Shrestha, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Area Police Office, Simara, three members of the same family were killed when the bus (Na 4 Kha 7242) heading toward Nepalgunj from Sindhuli collided with a scooter (Province 2-03-004 Pa 4442) heading toward the opposite direction.

A husband, wife and one-year-old son died in the accident, Shrestha said.

According to him, Tirthaman Syangtan, a resident of Nijgadh Municipality-10, his wife Jyoti and one-year-old son Ahan died in the accident.

The bus driver who hit the scooter has been absconding.

Shrestha said that they were searching for him. The bodies have been been sent to Birgunj for postmortem.
