Govt to sign Agriculture Technology Transfer agreement with Israel

KATHMANDU: An ’emergency’ meeting of the Council of Ministers on Sunday made a number of decisions, including appointing Dr Deepak Bhandari as Executive Director at the Nepal Agricultural research Council (NARC).

The meeting held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar also decided to sign agreement on Agriculture Technology Transfer with Israel.

The meeting also authorized Nepal’s Ambassador to Israel Dr Anjan Shakya to go ahead with the agreement, sources said.

Cabinet meetings are usually held on Mondays and Thursdays.

However, today’s ‘emergency’ meeting of the Council of Ministers was summoned at a time when the two Chairpersons of the ruling Nepal Communist Party PM Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal held several rounds of discussions on Cabinet reshuffle.

It was widely speculated that the cabinet meeting would decide on cabinet reshuffle.
