KATHMANDU: British Ambassador to Nepal Nicola Pollitt has said that they were working together for the ambitious outcome of Nepal at the 26th Conference of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) (COP-26).
The conference scheduled for November 2021 will be held in the United Kingdom.
In a tweet in the Nepali language, she stated that Nepal’s mountains have provided water to millions of people, adding that glaciers are melting rapidly due to climate change.
In a tweet, she said, “The UK is working to bring ambitious results to COP-26 by assisting Nepal in green recovery.”

UK Minister of State for South Asia and Commonwealth, Tariq Ahmad, had discussions with Nepal’s Forest Minister, Secretary and other stakeholders via video conferencing.
“Ahead of COP-26, good to meet practitioners, academics and Ministers committed to green & resilient economic recovery for Nepal. The UK has committed $400m to help Nepal develop renewable & tackle climate change-related hazards” he said in a tweet.
