KATHMANDU: The government has designated Mahendra Shrestha as the COVID-19 Focal Person.

It was decided through a ministerial decision of Minister for Health and Population Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal today.

A 12th-grade officer at the Ministry, Shrestha was leading the COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre (CMCC) on behalf of the Ministry.

He has also served as the Director-General of the Department of Health Services and as the spokesperson of the Ministry.
