KARNALI: The State government is going to build hospitals in various 39 local units of 10 districts in the Karnali State. The move is aimed at providing quality healthcare services to as much as public in the State.
Each local unit will have five to 15 bed hospitals, according to Minister for Health and Population in the Karnali State government, Nawaraj Rawat.
Minister Rawat shared that the proposal to construct health facilities in those local units was passed by the meeting of council of ministers.
Seven hospitals would be built in Surkhet district, four in Humla, five in Jajarkot, two in Jumla and six in Dailekh, informed Rawat.
Likewise, Rukum West will have two hospitals, Salyan six, Kalikot two and Dolpa will have three. Budget for the construction of the hospital would be allocated to 33 of the 39 local units selected for this project.
Rest other hospitals would be built by Ministry of Urban Development. In some places, the existing health posts would be upgraded and turned into hospitals while in some places a completely new hospital building would be built, said Minister Rawat.
Density of population could be considered as a criterion to build the hospital while recommendations furnished by the local people’s representatives would be taken into consideration.
