Coronavirus kills over 87,000 in Brazil

KATHMANDU: The death toll from the coronavirus in Brazil has crossed 87,000 in the last seven months.

According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, the death toll has reached 87, 052 after 556 new deaths were reported.

With new 23,467 cases in a single day, the number of infection cases has surged to 2,419,901 so far.

Currently, 698,575 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 8,318 are critical. Meanwhile, 1,634,274 have recovered after treatment.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China on December 31, 2019, the coronavirus pandemic has spread to 213 countries including two international conveyances, killing 652,033 and infecting 16,412,262 people across the world.
