West Baglung area to be connected with electricity this year

BAGLUN: Burtibang, the second biggest market in Dhorpatan municipality in western part of Baglung district, is likely to have electricity from the National Transmission Grid within this fiscal year.

Target was to connect the place with electricity last fiscal year which could not be materialized owing to various reasons including landslide along the way electricity poles were to be erected.

A sub-station was built at Hariharchaur last year to extend the electricity access. Electricity poles were being installed and electric lines being fixed.

Nepal Electricity Authority Baglung Distribution Centre’s chief Shiva Narayan Goshali assured that electricity would be brought to Burtibang within the stipulated timeline.

He shared, “We will now install electricity meter in the Burtibang market area. Burtinag will be illuminated this year.”

Once the place is connected with the electricity,  enterprises could flourish. Currently, locals here were availing electricity from micro hydropower. RSS
