NCP Standing Committee meeting adjourned till Tuesday



KATHMANDU: The Standing Committee meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has been adjourned till Tuesday.

The meeting discussed Nepal-India border dispute today as well, said NCP Spokesperson Narayankaji Shrestha. The meeting, which started on Wednesday, focused on border issues on both Friday and Saturday.

A total of 21 Standing Committee members speaking in today’s meeting expressed their views that the government should take initiative to bring back the encroached land.

“Everyone who spoke at the meeting remarked the inclusion of Nepal’s new map in the schedule of the constitution as historic,” he said.

He said that discussion on the border dispute will complete on Tuesday and then discussion will be held on coronavirus prevention and control.

Prime Minister KP Oli was not present in today’s meeting as well. Oli briefly took part in the meeting after leaders criticized him for his absence on Friday.
