Nepal reports 90 new COVID-19 cases; tally climbs to 772

KATHMANDU: Nepal has reported 90 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday. With this, the number of coronavirus positive cases have reached 772.

Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population, Dr. Bikash Devkota, said that the new cases were seen Mahottari, Bara, Rautahat, Siraha, Dhanusha, Banke, Kapilvastu, Arghakhanchi, Gulmi, Rupandehi, Kailali, Achham, Syangja and Surkhet districts.

Two people have been infected in Mahottari, five in Bara, 22 in Rautahat, five in Siraha, one in Dhanusha, eight in Banke, 26 in Kapilvastu, two in Arghakhanchi, two in Gulmi, one in Rupandehi, one in Kailali, one in Achham, two in Syangja and 12 in Surkhet, according to Spokesperson Devkota.

A total of 35 people tested positive in tests at the National Public Health Laboratory, one in Bheri Hospital, seven in Rupandehi Provincial Laboratory, two in Seti Laboratory, two in Pokhara Laboratory, 12 in Surkhet Provincial Hospital, seven in Nepalgunj and 24 in Dang.

According to Dr. Devkota, coronavirus infection was confirmed in 35 people in the tests conducted at the National Public Health Laboratory. They are 30 and 35-year-old male of Manara Rural Municipality-10 in Mahottari.

Similarly, two men aged 35 and 36 in Bara hailing from Jumla and three men aged 19, 30 and 35 in the quarantine of Piparpati School in Pacharauta Municipality-1 of Bara.

Likewise, eight persons of Rautahat Gaur Municipality are in the age group of 4 to 40 years, six persons (men aged 18-41 years) from Dewahi Gunai Municipality and Dharraigunai Municipality of Rautahat.

Spokesperson Dr. Devkota said that six persons from Karuniya 1 and 4 of Rautahat have been infected.

Similarly, a 22-year-old man from Rajdevi Municipality of Rautahat, a 24-year-old man from Garuna Municipality of Rautahat and an 18-year-old man from Siraha Nawarajpur Municipality have been infected.

Spokesperson Dr. Devkota added that four men aged between 25 and 29 of Bhagwanpur Rural Municipality of Siraha have also been infected.

Similarly, coronavirus infection has been confirmed in a 22-year-old man at COVID-19 Hospital in Dhanusha Velamukhiyapati.

Likewise, a 22-year-old man from Nepalgunj-2 has been confirmed to have coronavirus infection in the test conducted at Bheri Hospital, and seven people tested positive for corona at the Provincial Public Health Laboratory in Rupandehi.

They are 22-year-old and 50-year-old male from Kapilvastu Mayadevi-7, two men aged 19 and 43 years from Arghakhanchi Kamala School, two men from Gulmi Dhurkot and a 22-year-old man from the Lumbini Hospital.

According to Spokesperson Dr. Devkota, a coronavirus infection has been confirmed in 12 people of Surkhet in a test conducted at the Livestock Research Laboratory of the Province Hospital, Surkhet.

They are 8 men and one woman aged 9 to 46 from Birendranagar, Surkhet. Similarly, two men aged 16 and 17 from Bheriganga in Surkhet and two men aged 35 and 49 from Simta in Surkhet have also been infected.

According to Spokesperson Dr. Devkota, seven more people in Nepalgunj have tested positive. They are 20, 21, 36 and a 40-year-old man of Banke’s Duduwa, a 46-year-old man of Rapti Sonari Ward No. 3 of Banke, 38 years old men of Ward No. 9 and a 30-year-old man of Vaijnath 3 of Banke.

Similarly, in the test conducted at Rapti Health Science Academy in Dang, 24 people from Kapilvastu have tested positive.

All of them are male ranging from age two to 55 years. According to Dr. Devkota, they belong to wards 1, 2 and 8 of Yashodhara Rural Municipality of Kapilvastu.

Similarly, 43 persons have recovered from COVID 19 and discharged from Narayani Hospital on Tuesday taking the tally to 155.

The remaining 617 patients are receiving treatment at various hospitals nationwide.

Spokesperson Dr. Devkota added that presently altogether 88,282 people are in various quarantine facilities in the country.

A total of four people have died of coronavirus in Nepal so far.

So far, coronavirus has been spread to 46 districts.
