Four more COVID-19 patients recover in Nepal

KATHMANDU: With four more COVID-19 infected patients being discharged from hospitals after recovery, the total number of recovered persons has reached 16 in Nepal.

On Sunday, a 19-year-old youth went home after being discharged from the Narayani Hospital in Birgunj.

The youth spent 12 days in the hospital, according to the Ministry of Health.

Likewise, three others were discharged from the same hospital, Dr Bikash Devkota told a regular press briefing.

With this, the total number of coronavirus-infected people returning home after treatment has reached 16 in the country, he informed.

Nepal has tested over 49,000 samples for coronavirus so far. A total of 9,668 samples have been tested through Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) method and 39,670 through Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) kits.

Some 14,731 people are in quarantine till Sunday afternoon and a total of 87 people have been isolated with three in Kathmandu Valley and 84 outside the Valley.
