DARCHULA: Nepal Police have rescued a woman flowing in the Mahakali River near Dumpani on Sunday morning.

Two police constables rescued Sapana Aitwal, 30, of Byans Rural Municipality 1, Dumpani who was being washed away by the current of the Mahakali River.

“Immediately after we got the news that a woman was being carried away by the current of Mahakali River, a team of police reached at the site with tubes,” Inspector Surendra Prasad Joshi said, adding, “When they could not rescue offering the tubes, two constables jumped into the river and dragged the woman to the shore.”

According to Dr. Gajendra Duwal, Chief of Darchula Hospital, citing her critical condition the hospital referred her to Kohalpur Hospital. He said that she is taken to Kohalpur Hospital via Nepal Army’s helicopter.
