Nepal lockdown: 17 foreigners rescued from Everest region



KATHMANDU: A total of 17 foreigners marooned in the Everest region have been rescued in the past two days.

Yog Raj Kandel, Spokesperson at the Airlines Operators Association of Nepal (AOAN) said that 17 foreigners were rescued on Wednesday and Thursday.

According to him, 10 foreigners were airlifted from Pangboche and Kothe through two flights of Air Dynasty on Wednesday.

Likewise, seven foreigners were rescued on Thursday.

The tourists were stranded after the government enforced a weeklong lockdown to combat COVID-19.
