COVID-19 kills 12, infects 657 in India

KATHMANDU: The number of cases of coronavirus in southern neighbor India has reached 657 after the country reported 121 new cases in the last 24 hours.

According to Indian media, the death toll from the novel virus in India has reached 12 in the country after a person died in Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday.

Maharashtra and Kerala have been the worst hit with 112 and 105 people respectively.

Meanwhile, a medical person is reported to have been diagnosed with the coronavirus in New Delhi.

With the novel virus taking toll on the country, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended the lockdown for 21 more days effective from last Tuesday night.
