Production and supply of daily essentials to continue



KATHMANDU: The production and supply of daily essentials would continue during the nation-wide lockdown announced by the government as a preventive measure against COVID-19.

Issuing a notice today, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development has urged the concerned bodies to continue supply of daily essentials during the lockdown.

“Basic daily essentials including cereals, vegetables, milk, fruits, poultry productions, and its supply and distribution would be continued unabated,” reads the notice by Joint-secretary at the ministry, Dr Ganga Dutta Acharya.

It also asked industries producing basic daily essentials to inform the ministry and Livestock Service Department in case of any problems.

The ministry has shared ministry spokesperson Dr Hari Bahadur KC’s phone number (9841401287) and Director General of the Department Dr Basnshi Sharma’s phone number (9851067387) for contacting in case of any help or support needed by the producers and suppliers of daily essentials.
