Indian Foreign Secretary meets NC President Deuba

KATHMANDU: Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla has held a courtesy meeting with Nepali Congress (NC) President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.

During the meeting held at the residence of President Deuba at Budhanilkantha this evening, they discussed the multi-dimensional relations between Nepal and India, said former Ambassador Dinesh Bhattarai.

During the meeting, Deuba said that NC has always attached high importance to Nepal-India relations and added that India has always supported India’s institutional development of democracy.

He said that the speedy and effective implementation of the project agreed upon by the two countries would send a good message and would be in the interest of both the countries.

During the meeting, they also discussed the need to maintain high political ties and relations between the two countries, and to further strengthen the ties by resolving the remaining issues between the two countries.

Secretary Shringla arrived in Kathmandu today for a two-day visit at the invitation of Foreign Ministry Secretary Bharat Raj Poudyal.
