No need to undergo COVID-19 test immediately after travel: Health Ministry

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health has made it clear that there was no rationale in carrying out the PCR test immediately after a journey from one place to another.

Commenting on the complaints that the landlords in Kathmandu have denied the incomers enter the house unless they produce a coronavirus negative report, Prof. Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population has asked the landlords not to behave that way.

“We have got the report that the incomers to Kathmandu are defied the entry to their rented room or flats unless they produce COVID-19 negative report,” Spokesperson Gautam said, “However, let it be clear that only after the five
days of coming into contact with the infected person the test shows the valid report, hence there is no use of carrying out the PCR immediately after travelling from one place to another.”
