19 policemen in Province 1 test coronavirus positive

KATHMANDU: As many as 19 police personnel working at the Provincial Police Office Rani in Biratnagar have contracted coronavirus.

According to SP Deepak Pokharel, Spokesperson at the Provincial Police Office Rani, Biratnagar, out of 146 samples collected from the Provincial Police Office, 19 have tested positive.

“Out of 146 samples from province police office, Biratnagar sent to the Provincial Public Health Laboratory, 19 came out with coronavirus positive result,” SP Pokharel said, “The new cases have been sent to Morang’s Gothgaun-based isolation hospital.”

He added that the province police has initiated special cleaning in the office after finding so many cases in the office.

After finding the police working in the office 1.5 km away from Nepal India border, Biratnagar Metropolitan City is mulling over enforcing lockdown in the Metropolitan city.
