Scorpio jeep-hit kills three in Morang



KATHMANDU: Three people were killed after being hit by a Scorpio jeep, Ba 14 Cha 9643, in Kanepokhari rural municipality of Morang district on Thursday night.

According to District Police Office, Morang, the ill-fated jeep first struck a pedestrian and went out of control then hit a motorbike Me 10 Pa 2756, killing other two people.

The motorcycle was heading to east from west when the accident took place.

The pedestrian was a woman who died on the spot. Similarly, other deceased are 38-year-old Gajendra Bahadur Gurung of Phidim municipality-2, Panchthar and pillion rider of around 35-year-old whose identity is yet to be established.

Police said they have arrested 45-year-old driver of the jeep Mahendra Bahadur Thapa of Itahari Sub Metropolitan City-4 and are investigating the case.
