Valley witnessing monsoon rains since early Friday



KATHMANDU: Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has said monsoon rains are occurring in various parts of the country since early Friday.

Torrential rains are likely to continue for some days as the monsoon has already set in Nepal and are getting active, according to MFD.

Light to moderate rains are expected in most parts of the country and heavy rains with thunderstorms and lightning are likely in few places of Pradesh 1, Pradesh 2, Gandaki Pradesh, Pradesh 5 and Sudurpashchim Pradesh, said MFD.

Meanwhile, MFD has advised to take precaution as the monsoon rains might induce floods and landslides in various parts of the country and affect land and air transport services.
