Peacekeeping mission-bound 1,124 NA officials in quarantine

KATHMANDU: Nepal Army has kept 1,124 army officials selected for peacekeeping mission in quarantine.

They have been kept in quarantine set up at Birendra Peace Operations Training Center, Panchkhal before leaving for South Sudan, Mali, Libya and the CAR, said Nepal Army.

The United Nations had stopped Nepali peacekeepers when they were about to leave for South Sudan on the first week of March due to coronavirus pandemic.

No Nepali peacekeepers have gone for peacekeeping mission since then.

They have been kept in quarantine after the UN gave a green signal to take the Nepali peacekeepers again.
