Govt to bring self-employment programs worth over Rs 10 bln

KATHMANDU: With the COVID-19 rendering millions of people jobless globally,  the Nepal government is preparing to bring a special package to create job opportunities in the country.

The Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security has said the government is preparing to introduce self-employment programs worth over Rs 10 billion through the upcoming budget.

Almost 2.4 million people in Nepal and 4 million working abroad are likely to lose their jobs due to Coronavirus pandemic.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the deadly virus has spread to 210 countries including two international conveyances across the world, killing 197, 074 and rendering millions of people jobless.
