Sarokar Samaj distributes lockdown relief to 69 families



KATHMANDU: Tehrathum Sarokar Samaj has started distributing relief materials to the needy people stranded in the Kathmandu Valley due to lockdown.

The relief materials are being distributed to a total of 271 people who are in dire need of daily essentials, said Mohan Kumar Dangi, chairman of the Samaj.

Tha Samaj distributed daily essentials including 25 kg rice, 3 kg lentil, 1 kg salt, 1 kg beaten rice and 1 kg sugar each to 69 families on Friday.

The relief materials were distributed in Shankhapark, Budhanilkantha, Basundhara, Tokha and Gongabu areas.

“My happiness knew no bound to see the needy people carrying relief materials distributed by the Samaj to their respective rooms ,” shared Chairman Dangi following the distribution work.

Similarly, the organization is distributing relief materials in Bishalnagar, Kalimati, Thankot, Kirtipur, Balkhu including some places of Lalitpur, said Suman Budhathoki on Saturday, Suman Budhathoki, a member of the Samaj said.

The relief collection and distribution committee had been formed under the coordination of Keshab Bhattarai, General Secretary of the Samaj.
