FinMin Paudel greeted with black flags in Rupandehi

BUTWAL: Minister for Finance Bishnu Paudel has been greeted with black flags in his home district Rupandehi.

Nepal Student Union (NSU), and Nepal Tarun Dal, the sister organizations of the main opposition Nepali Congress greeted Minister Paudel with black flags.

They demonstrated against Paudel showing black flags while he was heading to Sainamaina municipality in Butwal.

The irate groups also obstructed the road as part of the demonstration. Police had to use force to clear the road.

Paudel, who is also the general secretary of the ruling NCP, had promised to make Butwal as the capital of Province 5 during the election period.

Locals of Butwal have accused Paudel of keeping mum while shifting province capital from Butwal to Dang.
