 Nepali national dies of COVID-19 in Saudi Arabia



KATHMANDU: A Nepali migrant has died from the coronavirus pandemic in a foreign country in the past one week.

According to Non Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), a Nepali national has died in the course of treatment in Saudi Arabia last week.

Out of the Nepali nationals living in 42 countries abroad, 24,752 have been infected with the virus. Of them, 39,179 (92%) have recovered from the pandemic, according to NRNA Health Committee Coordinator Dr Sanjeev Sapkota.

A total of 284 have died in 19 countries abroad so far, said Chiran Sharma, the press coordinator of the NRN COVID-19 High Level Committee.

Similarly, 155,233 people have been infected with COVID-19 in Nepal. Of them 108,334 have recovered (70%).

As many as 842 people have died from the virus in Nepal until Saturday. The number of COVID-19 deaths of Nepali people including those at home and abroad has reached 1,126.
