COVID-19 death toll in Province 2 reaches 125, 95 new cases confirmed

JANAKPURDHAM: Coronavirus has been confirmed in 95 more people in Province 2 on Friday.

A total of 95 people, including 12 women and 83 men, have been diagnosed positive in the tests conducted at the Provincial Public Health Laboratory, Janakpur, Narayani Sub-Regional Hospital Birgunj, Gaur Hospital, Rautahat and Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Hospital, Rajbiraj, said Acting Director at Health Directorate Vijay Jha.

The highest number of 35 cases has been confirmed in Rautahat on Friday.

Similarly, nine people in Saptari, 13 in Sarlahi, 12 in Parsa, six in Bara, nine in Siraha, 10 in Dhanusha and one in Mahottari have been found to have contracted the pandemic virus.

A total of 243 people in the province returned home on Friday.

With this, the number of recoveries has reached 7,456. Among them are 870 women and 6,586 men.

Meanwhile, a man died of the coronavirus infection in Province 2.

A 77-year-old man of Bankatwa Tol of Pokhariya Municipality-1 of Parsa succumbed to the pandemic, said Acting Director Jha.

A total of 125 people have lost their battle against the pandemic in the province so far.

So far, 106 men and 19 women have lost their lives due to the infection in the province, said Acting Director Jha.

The death toll from COVID-19 has reached 43 in Parsa.

Similarly, 18 people have died in Bara, 15 in Dhanusha, 13 in Mahottari, 12 in Siraha, 12 in Saptari, six in Rautahat, five in Sarlahi, while and Indian national succumbed to the pandemic.
