Kathmandu Valley sees 645 new coronavirus cases, two deaths



KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Valley has witnessed 645 fresh cases of the coronavirus on Friday.

According to Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population, the Valley saw 503 COVID-19 cases in Kathmandu, 61 in Lalitpur and 51 in Bhaktapur in the last 24 hours.

Two people— a 51-year-old man in Lalitpur and a woman aged 75 years in Kathmandu— died of the coronavirus.

Despite the warnings from the health professionals and the government’s reckless movements of the people undermining the pandemic’s health safety measures, the coronavirus cases in the Valley are far from decreasing.

The country saw 1,313 cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, making the total number of infections from the pandemic 70,614 till date.
