COVID-19: 1,313 new cases reported; Nepal’s tally jumps to 70,614



KATHMANDU: A total of 1,313 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the country in the last 24 hours.

The confirmation was made in 12,262 PCR tests carried out in various laboratories across the country. The total number of infections has reached 70,614.

Speaking at the routine daily press meet at the Ministry of Health and Population on Friday, Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said 1,455 people recovered to their normal health in the past 24 hours. So far, 51,866 people have recovered from the deadly virus.

The number of active cases of coronavirus is 18,289.

A total of 10,052persons were currently undergoing treatment at home isolation while 8,237 patients were being treated at the institutional isolation.

He added that 227 COVID-19 patients in Nepal are undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 39 have been put on ventilator support.

Meanwhile, six people succumbed to the deadly virus in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 459.
