Bagmati State for disability-friendly, women and children-friendly projects



KATHMANDU: Minister for Physical Infrastructure in the Bagmati State Rameshwor Phuyal has pledged that any new projects to be undertaken by the state government would be friendly to people with disabilities, women and children.

Minister Phuyal reiterated that the issues raised by the stakeholders on this matter were genuine and thus needed to be taken into serious consideration.

Pressing for the equal state-services for the citizens with all sort of capabilities and even disabilities, Phuyal reaffirmed his commitment to help address the issues facing the differently-able people in the State.

Receiving a memorandum, he said all the new physical infrastructures would ensure access for the people with disabilities, women and children.

The charging stations for the electric vehicle, public toilets among others would be friendly to children, women and people with disability.

Even the public roads and transportation infrastructures would be made disability-friendly for which related Bill was under consideration in the State Assembly, according to the Minister.
