Rabindra Mishra requests CJ Rana to quit

KATHMANDU: Coordinator of the Sajha Party Rabindra Mishra has requested Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Jung Bahadur Rana to resign.

Addressing a protest assembly organized at Maitighar Mandala on Saturday, Mishra called for his resignation saying that his recent decision to reduce the life imprisonment for former DIG of Armed Police Force Ranjan Koirala has courted controversies.

“If you resign before the Parliament begins the impeachment process, it will help to restore the confidence of the Supreme Court and the people,” Mishra said, “You have become a controversial figure. The people have not been able to accept your decision.”

At the protest assembly, the party’s cadres carried placards with slogans such as ‘Repeal erroneous verdict, deliver justice to the victims’ and ‘Let’s put the corrupt in jail, not in Singha Durbar’ among others.
