KATHMANDU: A man has committed suicide by opening fire on himself in Udayapur district.
The deceased has been identified as Bidyaraj Rai of Limchunbung rural municipality-5, Jante, said District Police Office, Udayapur.
According to DSP Govinda Puri, the incident took place when Rai came back home under the influence of alcohol and took out a loaded gun and shot at himself at 8:30 pm last night.
Police said they are investigating the case why Rai committed suicide.
Rai’s wife had also committed suicide by consuming poison last year.
