KAILALI: As many as 1,350 people have been gone missing in the Sudurpaschim Province in the last three years.
A total of 1,560 women, 41 men, 330 boys and 422 girls have gone missing from the fiscal year 2017/18 to May of the current fiscal year.
According to the Far-Western Provincial Office, 575 women, 9 men, 93 boys and 117 girls have gone missing in the fiscal year 2017/18.
In the same fiscal year, 73 women, 3 men, 25 boys and 35 girls were found, according to the State Police Office.
Similarly, 545 women, 8 men, 131 boys and 186 girls have gone missing in the fiscal year 2018/19 while 68 women, 11 boys and 43 girls have been found, said SSP Mukesh Kumar Singh, spokesperson of the State Police Office.
Similarly, 440 women, 24 men, 106 boys and 119 girls have gone missing in the state till mid-June of the current fiscal year. According to the Far Western Provincial Police Office, 72 women, 4 men, 39 children and 35 girls were found in the same period.
Likewise, 213 women, 7 men, 75 boys and 113 girls have been found so far from the fiscal year 2017/2018.
The missing 1,347 women, 34 men, 255 boys and 309 girls have not been found yet.
According to spokesperson Singh, there is no definite information on missing persons and those who have been found without contact.
He said that the number of missing women and children has increased due to domestic disputes, mental stress, school results and the company of friends.
Stating that women may have been tempted and even trafficked, spokesperson Singh said that the number of disappearances has decreased in recent times.
