Two fugitives held for bomb explosion after 10 yrs



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested two individuals who had absconded after detonating a bomb in a passenger bus in Rautahat district 10 years ago.

The arrested are Shekh Gulam Sarbar and Dilip Kumar Sah of Ishnath municipality.

A joint team from Province 2 Police Office, Janakpur and District Police Office, Rautahat arrested them from Ishnath municipality.

On March 25, 2011, Sarbar and Sah had detonated a bomb in a bus, Na Kha 5721, coming to Hajminiya from district headquarters Gaur. A total of 13 people had sustained injuries in the incident.

The then underground outfit Tarai Janatantrik Mukti Morcha had claimed the responsibility for the explosion.

Shekh Gulam was a district leader then.  Police have confirmed their involvement in the incident.

According to Dhiraj Pratap Singh, chief of Pradesh 2 Police Office, a total of seven people were involved in the explosion. Two of them are still at large.

Singh said an investigation is underway after filling a case against the arrested on the charge of murder, explosion and bombing, said Singh.
