Gyawali is new Kathmandu Police Chief, Thapa to head MPCD

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA) has made transfers to Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu and Metropolitan Police Crime Division (MPCD).

As per the transfer list, SSP Shayamlal Gyawali will head Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu and SSP Deepak Thapa is the new MPCD Chief.

Chief of Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu Gyawali is the brother of Nepal Police Chief Thakur Prasad Gyawali. Earlier, he was deployed at Metropolitan Police Commissioner’s Office, Ranipokhari.

Likewise, MPCD Chief Thapa was earlier deployed at Nepal Police Headquarters.

The two police agencies were headless after Chief of Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu Uttamraj Subedi and MPCD Chief Sahakul Thapa were promoted to DIG.
