Facebook invitation for antelope’s dry meat leads to arrest



DANG: A person making a tempting display call on his social media for the dry meat dishes of antelope is nabbed by District Forest Office here.

Shiva Raj Pun, 35, of Gadhawa Rural Municipality- 6 is booked in police record for his Facebook wall displaying him preparing the ‘alleged’ dry meat of antelope as a special lockdown dish.

For his post translated literally in English as – ‘You are welcome at my house for today’s snacks of antelope’s dry meat’, Pun was arrested by the officials from Division Forest Office, Deukhuri.

“After getting his Facebook status claiming he was preparing the dish from dry meet of antelope, we have taken him into custody and initiated investigation on the issue,” Prabin Bidari, the Chief of the Deukhuri-based Division Forest Office said.

He informed that the arrested would be sued as per the provisions in the National Parks and Wildlife Conservation Act, 1973.

After arrest, Pun has deleted his status on Facebook.
