68 arrested for defying lockdown



KATHMANDU: Police on Tuesday arrested 68 persons from different parts of the country for defying a weeklong lockdown enforced as a preventive measure to combat coronavirus.

According to Nepal Police Spokesperson Sailesh Thapa, 31 were arrested in Kailai, 14 in Kapilvastu, seven in Jhapa, four in Sunsari, three in Parsa, two each in Kanchanpur and Dhanusha.

Likewise, the law enforcement agency impounded 1,071 vehicles of defying lockdown.
