India’s Manipur reports first case, Nepal-India border sealed

MANIPUR: India’s state of Manipur has sealed borders with the neighboring countries to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

A 23-year-old person from Imphal (West) has been identified as the state’s first confirmed case of the novel coronavirus in Manipur, Indian media reports have said.

With a travel history to the United Kingdom, the person is currently being treated at a hospital.

Meanwhile, the Assam government has taken precautionary measures at all the land ports bordering Bangladesh and Bhutan. It has also stationed medical teams to screen people coming from these countries. (With inputs from Agencies)
