NEPSE index up by 29.68 points, crosses 1,800-mark



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index increased by 29.68 points to reach 1,810.11 points on Tuesday.

The NEPSE index has crossed the 1,800-mark after the shares of non-life insurance, life insurance, and manufacturing sub-indices rose significantly.

The transaction amount today stood at Rs 5.44 billion. The transaction was around Rs 12 billion on Sunday and Monday alone.

Similarly, the Sensitive Index, which measures the trading volume of large companies, rose by 4.42 points to 349.37.

A total of 11,748,520 shares of 196 companies were bought and sold at a price of Rs 5.44 billion.

Out of the total 12 sub-indices traded, shares of the hotel sub-index declined today, while shares of the other 11 sub-indices rose.

The hotel sub-index declined by 34.92 points. While, Banking increased by 1.44 points, Trade 172.63, Development Bank 12.86, Hydropower 21.32, Finance 6.23, Non-Life Insurance 327.51, Production 227.12, Other 61.51, Microfinance 25.59, Life Insurance 248.52 and collective investment funds by rose 0.1 points.
